CyberCash, Inc. - founded in August 1994 by Bill Melton who
previously founded Verifone and Transaction Network Systems, and
Dan Lynch who previously founded Interop, as well as Steve Crocker,
Magdalena Yesil, and Bruce Wilson.
The company is focused on providing Secure Financial Transactions
Services over the Internet, including secure credit card transactions
electronic checks and micro transactions since April, 1995
At the heart of each of CyberCash's services are three technological
enablers: CyberCash Wallet, CyberCash CashRegister™ and the
CyberCash Gateway Server. Both the Wallet and the CashRegister™
maintain metaphors of phyical world consumer wallets and merchant
cash registers (or POS terminals). The CyberCash Gateway Server is
the techology that sends CyberCash transactions to the private financial
networks. The Cash Register is free to the Merchant and the consumer
can download the Wallet software for free.
Enables you to securely process credit card transactions 24
hours a day, seven days a week to a new global marketplace
with cash flow expected to top 400 billion dollars a year by the
year 2000. CyberCash CashRegister is compatible with current
and future industry standards, including the Secure Electronic
Transaction (SET) protocol, currently being developed by VISA
and MasterCard.
CyberCash works with all the popular browsers, as well as the
majority of Internet hardware, software, servers, communication
protocols, and web store applications.
Performs many kinds of "credit card not present" transactions,
including electronic payments, phone, fax, or email from a single
software program.
